I know, I know. I said 3:00 but I didn't specify AM or PM. Either way I'm back and now we can get back in the swing of things. Lot's of great shows going on in Austin this week so to start the week off I thought why not give the breakdown.
Tonight at The Mohawk we've got Peel, Pompeii and Santiago. Peel have been getting a lot of play around here as of late. And with the new album just released you can expect a great performance with a lot of the new tracks. Plus The Mohawk is always a good time.
Wednesday brings The Pony's. I have to be honest, I am a huge fan yet somehow this one slipped by me. Newly signed to Matador, you would think that this one would get more attention. Joining them on the bill is Deerhunter and one of my favorites Lomita.
Thursday is going to be a busy night. Starting off with The Politics at Momo's. The show is for a good cause as it will be benefiting the Austin Music Foundation. The Politics just completed their first album so you can expect a ton of new tracks from that. Then it's on to Emo's where SOUNDteam will take the stage along with Yellow Fever.
Friday will be an Emo's night as well. Two great bands that you may not be completely aware of will be in town and I highly suggest you give them a try. The Films and Eastern Conference Champions will both take stage in the Lounge.
It doesn't stop there, Saturday finds Tapes N' Tapes coming to town for the first time since they sold out Stubbs, when they were in town with Cold War Kids. My how things have changed? Also performing, The Harlem Shakes and The Laughing.
And to cap off the weekend... As mentioned before The MTVu Campus Invasion Tour will be in town bringing The Rapture, The Shins and some emo bands I don't care about.
