Todor Kobakov | "Carpe Diem" (Feat. Emily Haines)

Sometimes just looking around on the net you happen to stumble upon things. Last night, I happened to come across a pianist named Todor Kobakov who has also composed a few movie soundtracks (Moment, Pinkville, Y.P.F.) and was a member of Metric's Emily Haines' solo band, Emily Haines and The Soft Skeleton.

Released in October 2009 Kobakov's debut solo piano album Pop Music (currently only $6.99 on Amazon) is a thing of beauty. Sometimes is good to expand your horizons and listen to something new and different. This album is just that. The album is just over forty minutes and features a couple of guest vocalists that we happen to love. Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio lends his pipes on the track "Loving Hands" and the aforementioned Haines appears on "Carpe Diem" (which is down below). So go ahead and take five minutes out of your day and just listen.
