Dirty Projectors To Replace Sonic Youth at ACL

With all the cancellations at this year's SOLD OUT Austin City Limits Festival, it sure would have been easy for C3 turn their back on everyone who purchased three day passes. We're sure glad they didn't though. Sure Jay-Z would have made a fantastic replacement for the Beastie Boys, but sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.

After Sonic Youth canceled last week (due to guitarist Lee Renaldo fracturing his left wrist), word has officially come that Dirty Projectors were added this year's ACL. However, they will not take Sonic Youth's time slot but will be on the Dell Stage Sunday afternoon at 5pm. Michael Franti and Spearhead are actually moving to the 7pm vacant time slot that belonged to Sonic Youth. (Via Austin 360)

So lets recap: Beastie Boys out, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Raphael Saadiq in, Lily Allen out, Them Crooked Vultures in, Sonic Youth out, and now Dirty Projectors in. Although obviously not as good as the original acts that cancelled, these will make suitable replacements.
