ACL Spotlight: Band of Horses

Band of Horses formed in Seattle in 2004 and in those few years they have already amassed a bunch of fans. Their catalog includes two albums, with the most recent being Cease To Begin, which was released last October via Sub Pop.

Asked about Cease To Begin, lead singer Ben Bridwell said this in an interview with Pitchfork: "I guess the first record had some kind of country-ish leanings and things [but] I think there's maybe a little bit more of [that] feeling on it, a little more down-home, I guess, and not so much indie rock." Band of Horses has a huge following here in Austin, as was evident when they SOLD OUT their secret Saturday ACL Aftershow at The Parish in a little less than two hours. If you weren't lucky enough to get tickets, check out what the sponsors, Blurt, had to say.

"For those of you who weren't able to get a ticket today, there may be a small quantity of tickets made available the day of the show, so look for updates on BLURT-ONLINE.COM next week and check in at the Parish Room box office a few hours before the doors open," says BLURT Associate Editor Andy Tennille. "We're also going to be giving away some tickets at BLURT-ONLINE.COM and through some of the local radio stations in Austin, so keep your eyes peeled and your wits about you."
