Monolith Music Festival

First I would like to introduce myself as the newest member of the ultra8201 team. My name is B.J., and many of you may have seen a couple posts I have contributed here in the past. I am out in Denver, Colorado and currently have my own blog as well, A Walking Disaster, I also write and do photography for Filter Magazine, in particular their Antics website. I am excited to join the team and will bring a Mile High appeal to my post focusing on the growing music scene here in Denver. In the meantime feel free to send me any welcoming gifts to Richard and Joel.

And now to my first assignment, with the American festival circuit coming to it's last rounds ( i think VooDoo in New Orleans is the last). We have our own little growing festival here in Colorado called The Monolith Music Festival, this is the second year of the fest and is a indie-hipster's wet dream. I am going to post my schedule and hopefully try and stick to it (we know we never get to see all the bands we intent to). The festival takes place at the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater, which many consider the best live outdoor venue in the country (sorry...Gorge). The festival actually starts off tonight with a kickoff party at the Bluebird Theater. Here is my Saturday schedule (Sunday is the better of the two so I am still tweaking it a bit). Check for recaps and pics later this weekend.
