I've been wanting to see the U2 3D Movie for a little while now, and if you want to see it too, you better hurry up because the last showing is on April 3 here in Austin.
U2 3D is a groundbreaking film that brings the world’s most popular band to the IMAX Theatre in a totally new and engaging way. The first ever live-action 3D concert film — shot in South America during the final leg of the band's “Vertigo” tour — it immerses the audience in an all-enveloping and thrilling cinematic experience. Advanced digital 3D imagery and cutting-edge surround sound technology are coupled for the first time to bring a concert to life.
U2 3D captivates onscreen with a set list including such classic U2 songs as “Pride (In the Name of Love),” “New Year’s Day,” “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Miss Sarajevo,” “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “With or Without You,” “Fly” and “One,” as well as more recent tracks such as “Beautiful Day,” “Vertigo,” “Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own,” “Love and Peace or Else” and “Yahweh.”
It's showing at the IMAX Theatre, which is located in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum at 1800 N. Congress Avenue at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. For more information, call (512) 936-IMAX. You can buy tickets here ($12 for adults, $10 for seniors/military/students, $8 for kids 18 and under) for the eighty-five minute performance. There is no late seating and they recommend for you to get to the theater at least 20 minutes before you're scheduled showtime.
