Margot & The Nuclear So And So's Tourdates

Margot & The Nuclear So And So's are from Indianapolis, Indiana. The band is named "Margot" after Gwyneth Paltrow's character in Wes Anderson's film, The Royal Tenenbaums. "Nuclear" comes from president George W. Bush's pronunciation of the word.

The group is made up of Richard Edwards (vocals, guitar), Andy Fry (guitar), Chris Fry (drums), Hubert Glover (trumpet), Casey Tennis (percussion), Emily Watkins (keys, vocals), Tyler Watkins (bass), and Erik Kang (violin, lap steel). Kinda crazy, in high school Edwards and Emily Watkins went to prom together.

Margot & The Nuclear So And So's are in the process of recording Animal! (scheduled to be released this summer), their follow-up to their re-released 2006 album, The Dust of Retreat (originally released in April 2005, get it on iTunes). They are signed to Epic Records.

I found out about these guys in 2006 and unfortunetely missed them when they came to SXSW in 2007. Here's both our chances to check them out, as they will be in Austin at the end of May (the rest of the tourdates are down below).
