**SXSW Spotlight** Grand Archives

Grand Archives is an talented indie rock band, formed in Seattle. The band, originally called Archives, is led by Mat Brooke, former guitarist and vocalist for Carissa's Wierd and former guitarist for Band of Horses. Brooke left Band of Horses in July 2006 to form Grand Archives. Their debut album, The Grand Archives, will be released this Tuesday (2/19) via Sub Pop. Lots of four-part vocal harmonies create a Beach Boys feel to many of the songs. Without a doubt, it is much more upbeat that Brooke's previous work.
