Don't Believe the Hype...

The Grammy's were up to no good tonight, just like they are every year. I have never seen something so out of touch. I'm not saying these "indie" bands I write about deserve all of the credit. Even though some of them do, but please!

And speaking of things that involve both music and my broken heart. Muse will be on tour for the next few weeks with My Chemical Romance. I am not to happy to about this considering they will be in both Houston and San Antonio. But I don't see myself buying a ticket to see an opening band, and yes I would leave. On the other hand if anybody wants to take me? Well I might reconsider...

SXSW is in full effect and I am slowly compiling my list of day shows I will attend. I am also preparing for the 8pm hangovers I will have from all the day parties. I love me some SXSW! But in the spirit of the day show, I thought I would post some of the good ones that have come up.

Hot Freaks is one that is closest to my heart, a blogger curated music experience, will be taking place at The Mohawk and Club Deville over a couple of days. It is brought together by GorillavsBear, MOKB, Chromewaves, You Aint No Picasso, and my fav, Rock Insider. They better invite me to participate next year, this is my home! Ha ha... Really.

Public Enemy and Ozomatli headline a free show on the Town Lake Stage at Auditorium Shores stage on Friday, March 16.

Mastodon, Boris, Against Me!, the Riverboat Gamblers and more play the popular free stage on March 17.

Times are still not set, though the Friday show usually starts after 5 p.m. and the Saturday show starts in the afternoon, complete with kid’s fare in the early afternoon. The lineup for the Thursday free show remains unconfirmed.

And of course I will be checking out Peek A Boo Records day party at Bella Blue Boutique. It has two of my new favorites Peel and Palaxy Tracks.
