Review - Ghostland Observatory at Stubb's Indoors

Last night was my 9th Ghostland Observatory show of the year and if I hadn't already done my best of list it might be on there. It didn't start off that way though. They started the set while half of the crowd was still waiting in line to get in and it was kind of hectic finding a good spot once inside because it was extremely crowded (250 people my ass!). But once that was all out of they way and the band found their groove it proved to be an amazing night.

The set was filled with all the usuals, "Move With Your Lover" and "Sad Sad City", as well as four of the tracks of their forthcoming album "Robotique Majestique" which is also the title of one of the new songs. The highlight of the night was when the band performed "Heavy Heart" and the crowd in the front went absolutely insane and a full on mosh pit almost went down. They left the stage but quickly came back for the encore which included "Rich Man".

The new album will be out in February and I would expect that the touring in support of it will pick up shortly after. Check out this interview with Thomas Turner about how they decided to continue doing everything themselves instead of signing to a major label.
