Miss Me?

I will put the pictures up later, but I had to make my post just to let you know I had not fallen off the face of the earth. Sometimes you need to take a step back and walk away for a while to appreciate what you are missing. I have done this by going traveling around Texas with The Politics. Before that I took in Ladytron at Stubbs, which was more amazing than words. The Decemberists, which was kind of the most somber show I have ever been to. And just going to shows and being a person in the crowd.Something I had not done in a while. So it was great break but I am back and ready to go. I am just back from a whirlwind road trip with The Politics, we arrived in El Paso, Texas for a show at The Shine Gallery. And were instantly greeted with a buzz that Beck, yes that Beck, would be playing a secret show and the club next door Black Market. A club that holds maybe 200 people. We were skeptical but walked over and talked to the club owner and convinced him to let us in. The line was growing at a rapid rate at this point. He let us in and sure enough, Beck comes on to stage. He started the show with "Black Tambourine" and mixed his set with tracks off Guero, The Information, and Odelay. I was in such shock that I was watching Beck at a tiny club in El Paso, Texas?! An amazing night. When he finished it was time for The Politics. Playing to a very good sized crowd, they played an amazing set that had two new tracks they had never played before, great stuff. I spent hours in a car but the end result was most worth it. I feel so happy to be back and have been thinking about a lot of changes I want to make to the site, so check back. I will repost this with pictures in a while.

And come out tonight The Politics and Briertone will be at Trophy's.
