Japanese punk outfit Peelander Z has announced details for their upcoming Peelander-Fest at this year’s SXSW festival. The free, all-ages show will take place on March 17 at the Grackle venue in downtown Austin from noon to 7:00pm. Fans who know Peelander Z’s live shows will remember onstage antics like mid-performance piggy-back rides, tiger and giant squid costumes, human bowling, and ample (and sometimes dangerous) swinging/leaping/flying stunts. Peelander Z will be the last group to play in an eleven band lineup that features groups like Ken South Rock, Birthday Suits and Math the Band, among others. Each group will play for 20 minutes throughout the seven-hour party. Fans are also encouraged to stick around after the show for Austin Facial Hair Showcase (a sure crowd-pleaser!)
