It's been four long years since Chromatics last release and although we don't quite know when they will releasing the follow up Dear Tommy the band has shared the title track from the upcoming album today. The video is gorgeous with a blend of broken glass, blood and roses all colliding together with the groups signature sound providing the soundtrack.
Dinosaur Jr. are returning to Austin on September 16th for a show at ACL Live. The band just released their first album in four years, Give Me A Glimpse Of What Yer Not, on August 5th and have kept busy over the summer opening for Janes Addiction. We haven't had them in Austin since they did a FFF Nites show with the Meat Puppets in 2014 and who better to bring them back than FFF veterans and newly christened Margin Walker Presents. You can purchase TICKETS HERE.
Hayes Carll will be taping an episode of Austin City Limits on August 30th. The show is sure to focus on his most recent release Lovers and Leavers, which was a stripped down shift in style for Carll that was met with widespread acclaim. Carll grew up in The Woodlands, Texas and got his start playing in dive bars in and around Galveston. His songwriting has drawn comparisons to other another Texas great, Townes Van Zand and one of his best assets is creating an intimate atmosphere when performing live so his second appearance on the Austin City Limits stage is sure to be something special. You can enter for a chance to win tickets to the taping HERE.

The first annual Sound on Sound Festival will take place on November 4-6 at Sherwood Forest Faire just east of Austin in McDade, Texas. After 10 years of running Fun Fun Fun Fest and Transmission Entertainment the crew behind the scenes parted ways with Transmission a few weeks ago to start Margin Walker Presents and Sound on Sound. The festival shares the same aesthetic and DIY that FFF started with mixed with the playfulness of being held at a medieval themed park. Beach House will headline along with Explosions in the Sky and Phantogram. We can't help but notice that frequent collaborators (Big Grams - Big Boi and Phantogram and Killer Mike- Run The Jewels) will all be in attendance so we can hope for some crossover. It also boasts a ton of up and coming acts like Car Seat Headrest, Empress of, Thundercat and Hinds as well as some great local acts including Orthy, Boyfriendz, Night Drive, Magna Carda, American Sharks and more.
